The Importance of recording fresh Podcast content each time.
And… How to deal with those Terms and Conditions / Advisory Tag / Release Notes segments of your Podcast.
I’ve listened to a few Podcasts lately where the end tag or terms, advisory or whatever you’d like to label it as has been rehashed or more over re-used from previous Podcast. This is so not OK! I have no idea where that phrase came from, it was quite American and I’ve been listening to far too many US branding experts, still and all the same – it is not OK.
You may hear this with solicitor or medical based Podcasts. Sometimes you get advisory warnings about the content of the Podcast, in other Podcasts perhaps about swearing or adult content.
When a well-produced radio show, TV programme or Podcast do this they have spent time and effort in making sure that the voice either sounds the same, completely different, or they create a well produced section segment with cutting edge production elements and voice over to make sure it stands out in the right way.
If you don’t have that budget then just read that script fresh every time you record. It is the difference between sounding professional and amateur.
My advice is simply do it all ‘as-live’ meaning when you record a new podcast you do a new terms and conditions in the right place or record a well produced segment tag that provides the information.
Hey I’ll even do it for you.
